What is changing?
We will be making a lot of changes as part of the platform upgrade. Here's summary of key changes:
-  Enhanced partner experience with new tools to help you manage your listings more
   effectively and maximise your revenue
-  Expanded traveler network with exposure to more international travelers each month
-  New features to ensure greater account security and a safer experience

When is the HomeAway site changing?
We will keep you informed via email over the coming weeks, to tell you the exact date when you are ready for your upgrade.

Why is the HomeAway site changing?

HomeAway Sri Lanka will become fully integrated with the global HomeAway network, and will receive many of the tools, features and services enjoyed by global HomeAway partners & customers today.

This upgrade will provide an enhanced user experience that is safer, better and more dynamic. The new global site will provide access to enhanced tools designed to enable owners to manage their listings more efficiently. It will also make it easier for travelers to find and book a holiday home - delivering more enquiries and bookings to you!

Are there any changes to the commission fee structure?
There will be an increase from 3% to 8% on the owner commission fee. The traveler service fee will be revised from a flat 12% to a range of 6 - 12%. Generally, the higher the reservation amount, the lower the percentage of service fee.

This is a part of our overall efforts to re-balance the overall booking fees that is paid by both the owner and traveller, to make it more attractive for travellers to make a booking on your listings.

The adjusted commission and traveler service fee also allows us to:
  1. Invest more in both brand and online marketing to deliver more travelers to the HomeAway website, and therefore more bookings for you.
  2. Invest in the products and services we provide to help make our website easier and more secure to use, such as adding functionality for owners to review travelers and feel comfortable when accepting them in your home.

Is this move mandatory for all owners? Can i opt out?
These changes will apply to all accounts and listings in order to deliver the best owner and traveler experiences.

Why is this move necessary? Why do you need to change the platform?
As a world leader in vacation rentals, we are committed to ensure that both partners and travelers are equipped with the best-in-class tools and features for an enhanced user experience.

What will happen to my account and listings?

You will not be required to do anything to your account and listings at the moment - let us do the heavy lifting for you! If you have a HomeAway account with active listings, you will receive a link to activate your upgraded account.
We will send you regular email updates explaining the important changes, so keep an eye on your inbox.

Will any of my listing information be transferred across?
As part of the upgrade, we will move the following information across from your HomeAway listing to your upgraded HomeAway listing:

*We are transitioning listing information in our current HomeAway site to the closest equivalent within the upgraded Homeaway platform. However, we recommend that once you’ve moved across to the HomeAway dashboard, to review the above in detail.

What do I need to do to prepare for this change?

However, please take note of the following to better prepare yourself for the upcoming upgrade:

1. If you are still logging in to the HomeAway site via your Facebook or Google+ account, we recommend that you create a HomeAway password so that your account will be further protected from unauthorized access.

Please have your back account details on hand to set up your payment details.

You will typically require the following details:

Will the website URL change?
The URL of our main homepage will not change and will continue to be http://www.homeaway.lk.

I have HomeAway listings outside of Sri Lanka. What will happen to them?
Your listings outside of Sri lanka will be moved over to the upgraded platform along with your main account, and enjoy the same enhanced experience. These listings will continue to receive inquiries and booking requests. However, it is important to note that they will revert to a default currency of USD and default language, English.

We recommend that you get in touch with our account manager if you have further queries or any concerns regarding your listings outside of Sri Lanka or contact us.
