What are the changes to the commission fees for owners?
There will be an increase from 3% to 5% on the owner commission fee.
This is alongside a reduction of traveller service fees from a fixed 12% to a range between 6 - 12%.
This is a part of our overall efforts to rebalance the overall booking fees that is paid by both the owner and traveller, to make it more attractive for travellers to make a booking on your listings.
The adjusted commission and traveller service fee also allows us to:
i) Invest more in both brand and online marketing to deliver more travellers to the HomeAway website, and therefore more bookings for you.
ii) Invest in the products and services we provide to help make our website easier and more secure to use, such as adding functionality for owners to review travellers and feel comfortable when accepting them in your home.
What is the commission fee breakdown per booking?
5% commission charged for the rental amount, any fees (such as cleaning or pet fees), and any additional payments.
Why do I need to update my payment/payout details?
As part of the site upgrade, you will be required to update your payment and payout details (including bank account details) as there is a change in HomeAway in Singapore's payment provider(s). This is also to ensure that your details are accurate and up-to-date.
Why is PayPal not an option anymore?
We apologise that PayPal is currently unavailable due to a change in our back-end payment systems and provider. We will notify all partners when PayPal is made available again in the near future.
Will I get paid in my local currency or USD?
You will be paid in only Japanese yen with Japanese bank account.
How/When will I get paid on the upgraded site?
You will receive your payments as per usual. Payments will be processed 24 hours after a guest checks into your property. It will take 5 - 7 days for payments to be reflected in your account, depending on your bank.
